Outside Linebacker Rankings

February 24th, 2010 by cheerleaders

The most difficult thing to discern when compiling rankings for outside linebackers and defensive ends, is both picking which position each player is best suited for, as well as which position NFL think they’re best suited for.
Picking a player to play a position he has little-to-no experience in can stunt his growth, and even lead to a ruined career.
However, on that same note, several of these players have the ability to both play on the line, and play on the outside of a line-backing unit. Read on for the top 10 outside linebacker prospects in the 2010 NFL fantasy.
Top Five 3-4 OLB Prospects
1. Jerry Hughes (TCU)
While Brandon Graham is the hot, hyped player after this year’s Senior Bowl, Hughes still has to be the best overall OLB, especially as a pass-rushing specialist.
Hughes is bigger, faster, and more athletic than Graham, and he posted an amazing 16.5 tackles for loss and 11.5 sacks in 2009. He hails from a smaller school with little experience against top-level competition, but he’s still the best stud lining up on the outside.
2. Brandon Graham (Michigan)
Fueled by his solid 2009 season and excellent Senior Bowl performance, Graham is sky-rocketing up draft boards, and for good reason.
He’s not as athletic or as fast as you’d like, but few prospects have his uncanny ability to get around the edge and get to the quarterback. He makes things happen even when he doesn’t get the sack, and is just loaded with potential.
His skills were originally assumed to be best suited for the line, but he’s too small and probably not strong enough to play on the line at the next level. He could rock NFL scores worlds at the next level on the outside of a 3-4.
3. Sergio Kindle (Texas)
If you’re looking for a burner around the edge that has a bunch of college sacks to hype his name, Kindle simply isn’t your guy, as he only registered six sacks in 2009.
However, in terms of size, athleticism, and natural ability, he’s arguably the top OLB prospect. He’s the kind of guy that was solid in college, but could really take a leap with good coaching and the right system.
4. Ricky Sapp (Clemson)
Sapp has terrific size and solid versatility, although he probably needs to add some bulk and get stronger if he wants to be able to rush the passer off the line in the NFL.
He’s definitely best suited for the outside in a 3-4, and has the athleticism to get it done at the next level. He has minor knee concerns after an ACL injury in 2008, but he posted fine numbers in 2009, so it shouldn’t be a major issue.
5. Eric Norwood (South Carolina)
Norwood is narrowly a better prospect than Koa Misi, but he has better speed and overall athleticism, barely giving him the nod.
He’s just a beast as a pass-rusher, and his numbers haven’t always shown it. With the proper coaching and development, he could be a near unstoppable force on the outside of a 3-4.
Honorable Mention: Koa Misi, Jermaine Cunningham, Jason Worilds
Top Five 4-3 OLB Prospects
1. Sean Weatherspoon (Missouri)
Weatherspoon is an athletic freak with great speed and solid size for the position, while also possessing the versatility to play on the inside as the next level.
However, he’s best suited on the outside of a 4-3, as he is a sure tackler with good pass-rushing skills and great natural instincts.
He was extremely productive throughout his college career, and there simply isn’t much to like about him. He could be argued as the best overall OLB in the draft, but we’re giving hi the top spot as a 4-3 OLB.
2. A.J. Edds (Iowa)
From a physical stand point, there are other linebackers that should (and could) be taken above Edds. However, he still has solid athleticism and speed (as well as excellent size), and is quite possibly the most cerebral strong side linebacker in the draft.
He is as sure of a tackler as they come, and his combine could go a long way in proving whether or not he belongs ranked at the second spot in the 4-3 linebacker rankings.
3. Navorro Bowman (Penn State)
Bowman is an absolute beast with decent size and good speed and athleticism. Physically, he ranks among the best in the class, while also bringing in solid college production (106 tackles in 2009).
His main knock is for his character, as he’s had legal issues in the past. It remains to be seen just how much that will affect his draft stock.
4. Dekoda Watson (Florida State)
Hasn’t had the most productive college career, and is a bit under-sized, but he still has good tools and solid overall athleticism.
His solid speed and instincts will keep NFL football from falling too far, although a lack of necessity at the 4-3 OLB position could hurt his stock even more.
5. Roddrick Muckelroy (Texas)
Muckelroy has good size and speed for the position, and has displayed sound pass-rushing ability from the outside.
He’s solid in pass coverage and great at getting to the ball carrier, but needs work on some fundamental issues.

McCoy’s stock

February 24th, 2010 by cheerleaders

In the past few weeks, top college quarterbacks Sam Bradford, Jimmy Clausen, Tim Tebow, and Dan LeFevour have all elected to skip the passing drills portion of the NFL jerseys Combine.
While Clausen will not participate because of a toe injury, Tebow, LeFevour, and Bradford are all skipping the drills by choice.
Colt McCoy, however, will throw at the combine, hoping to show that his injured right shoulder is fully healed.
Tony Pike, quarterback out of Cincinnati, has not announced his intentions for the combine, but it seems that he may participate in passing drills with Colt McCoy.
While throwing in the combine may help McCoy’s stock if he shows off a healthy shoulder, it is not the best venue for accomplishing that goal.
McCoy has not had a whole lot of time to get his throwing motion back after getting taken out of the National Championship game. Waiting until the Texas Pro Day would give him more time to get his rhythm back and assure 100 percent shoulder health.
On top of that, McCoy’s only real competition at the combine will be Tony Pike, a fellow second to third-round prospect. This provides little opportunity to improve draft stock at the combine’s passing drills.
Bradford, who also must prove that he has a healthy throwing shoulder, is making the right decision by waiting until his Pro Day to participate in throwing drills.
First, Bradford needs to be sure his shoulder is 100 percent so that he can keep from being labeled with the "arm strength question mark."
Secondly, at the combine, quarterbacks do not have the benefit of throwing to familiar receivers in a familiar venue. At Pro Day, however, they get to throw to their favorite targets on their own territory.
There is really no reason for a highly regarded quarterback to participate in the throwing drills at the combine, because they can wait for their Pro Day.
At Pro Day, a quarterback is almost guaranteed to have a better outing, because he will be much more comfortable working with his own receivers.
This is especially true for first-round quarterbacks like Bradford and Clausen. Their stock will likely not improve at the combine, but could be damaged by a poor showing.
Another quarterback that is skipping combine drills and looking to make a splash at his Pro Day is Tebow.
He is certainly making the right decision by skipping combine passing drills. Reports surfaced this week that Tebow has been working on a new throwing motion.
Tebow has been working with coaches to get rid of his below-the-belt motion and perfect an above-the-shoulder "NFL shop" delivery. Initial reports are that Tebow is learning and improving quickly.
With a few more weeks before Pro Day, Tebow will have more time to learn and improve his new technique. This will be an opportunity for Tebow to drastically improve his stock if his new motion really works.
LeFevour, on the other hand, has few glaring question marks, but is skipping the combine drills. This is absolutely the right decision for him.
Without Bradford and Clausen, there is really no one worth being compared to at the combine drills.
Being rated as better than McCoy or Pike will not significantly improve LeFevour’s stock. However, being rated below those two could significantly damage his stock.
For the quarterbacks skipping combine passing drills, they are making the smart decision. Scouts will still get to see them throw, but in a more comfortable venue.
For Colt McCoy and Tony Pike, there is just not enough potential reward to make the combine passing drills worth participating in. They might as well wait until Pro Day to show their stuff with Jordan Shipley and Mardy Gilyard catching their passes instead of whoever the combine gives them.
If the combine comes down to McCoy vs. Pike, neither has much to gain NFL network.

Jersey Al’s Green Bay Packers

February 24th, 2010 by cheerleaders

This will be the first in a series of reports where I will be analyzing the upcoming 2010 NFL jerseys from a Green Bay Packers perspective. This first article will focus on general needs and a potential strategy to meet those needs.
The NFL mock draft season is upon us, and while I am a contributor to what I consider one of the better NFL sites , from my viewpoint, it’s too early to be making predictions about who the Packers will draft.
Of course, it’s still fun to do, but there are still so many other questions to be answered. Will there be a salary cap? Will the Packers be able to re-sign most of their own free agents? Will Ted Thompson dip his toes a bit deeper than usual into the free agent waters? Will Thompson look to trade from a position of depth to fill a need? Can players coming off of IR be counted on for 2010?
So what we will focus on here is exploring the right draft strategy for the Packers. For the purpose of this discussion, we are going to assume the Packers’ roster will be very close to how they finished the season, with the addition of Patrick Lee, Will Blackmon, and Jason Spitz coming off of IR. It would take a miracle for Al Harris to be ready in time, and Aaron Kampman’s situation is so up in the air, I’ll leave them out of the equation for now.
The Packers’ needs positions are basically five: OT, CB, OLB, S, RB. The main thing to consider is, will the Packers be drafting to make a run at the Super Bowl THIS year, or will they continue to build long-term depth? I propose that there is a way to do both. Ted Thompson needs to go back to his previous draft day m.o. and TRADE DOWN.
Most draft experts have been reporting a significant drop in talent level after the first 20 players, with a fairly flat plateau of talent over the next 30-40 spots. Drafting at the top of that range is a poor value.
At No. 23, will there be a top-flight impact player like Clay Matthews available at any of the Packers’ needs positions? CB Joe Haden will be gone. OTs Okung, Davis, and Bulaga will be gone. S Eric Berry will be gone. The only possibility would be at OLB, with Brandon Graham probably gone, but Ricky Sapp, Sergio Kindle, and Jerry Hughes still available. It’s very likely, however, that one of these players would be still be available 10-20 picks later. So why not address multiple needs?
Possible trade partners could be Tampa Bay, holding picks 35 and 44 or New England, with picks 42, 47, and 53, among others. For example, a trade of the Packers first (No.23) and fifth (No. 150) round picks for Tampa’s second (No. 35) and third (No. 67) is pretty equal value according the the trade charts. That would give the Packers a total of four picks in the second and third rounds (Nos. 35, 56, 67 and 86). That’s an opportunity to pick up four of the best 100 players in the country. Of course, there would have to be someone high on Tampa’s wish list at 23 for them to be interested.
Looking at the Packers’ needs, most people would say that NFL football left offensive tackle is the most glaring need. The odds are pretty slim, however, of landing a player at No. 23 that can step in and start at LT immediately. If you don’t believe that, I’ve done some research and will present the results in an upcoming article.

we are left scratching

Super Bowl can be, the end of every football fan nfl fantasy . For all we care about, the world has ended. Another 7 months, until we can even think of looking at football. However, if you are a true football fan, you have your sights set more closely; on April NFL Draft. This is the time, you can find it, eventually your team have the opportunity, or in front of the office of the low-energy children will have to choose another race that they would release three years also. One of the most talked about players, and this year is no doubt Tim Tebow. If you have all this in the past week on the world’s ears, you may have heard of a PR crisis, which should be Tebow and his mother to make the implementation of commercial anti-sex abortion stance. This can lead the team to avoid taking Tebow away? I ask a child to the church in the locker room every potential GM’s hands, the so-called ax? Well, business came and went, we are left scratching our heads wondering what all the fuss. Taste in general? Yes. Offensive extreme leftists? Or even shut down. So, now the media The danger is clear from Tebow’s name, what other risks are looking for a Littler more sunlight, to the ‘alcohol Duncan held a draft pick and your fantasy roster a good shot start?

Like any other rookie quarterback analysis of more than scouts heck out of Tebow’s throwing mechanics, especially his long throwing motion, which leads to slow-release. The good news is, though, Tebow getting better and better. With the senior bowl practice, the coaches, scouts said, Tebow away, are looking better. If he can speed up the release of this alone would make him a more valuable asset.setback will not have nearly the field day they are planned, and launched a major sports bodies will not lead to a disaster outside the pocket, so just with the burning of the NFL linebacker: 50 athleticism.
Watching their quarterback coach to take hatred cherished end off. A nfl fantasy simple exploration, or worse, threat of injury is always the end of the season on the attitudes of people wearing headphones. Tebow may be different, but. In the 6′3 , 240 pounds, this is because if he is a bio-genetic engineering is the quarterback. We all know that the line he will not have problems to see (no, this is a valid excuse, thank you Germany Lu Brees). However, his most compelling part of the establishment of the fact that his body absorbs some of the hits. think Daunte Culpepper, only better. Tebow will be able to take these painful is all rookie commitment, and can be back up and continuous learning.

Although I hate Philip Rivers (I will not take the time to emphasize the word hate means), no one can deny his ability to lead a team. Fire emotions and he plays is unmatched. I think that Duncan Tebow will soon connection with the potential in-kind door. He has the ability from his emotions, and encouraged, while his teammates to do the same thing. Even if we are all in tears, he shed some Alabama game, we certainly can not question his wishes. Coach will certainly measure at the center of this team for their leadership advantages.

Thus, all bear in mind is to continue for the upcoming fantasy league radar Tebow nfl shop. In addition, if you are a dynasty league, will not hurt the prospects have taken place in a draft Tebow. If you are only in the conventional single-season league, keeping the eyes early in the free agent pool. Tebow may have more success than we have imagined this.

career playoff record of catches

This is not Clark, who likes watching a game MVP title of the nfl news early competitors fault. With two minutes, the former Eagle Eye has established most of the new NFL career playoff record of catches (64) and receiving yards (847), from the winger.

You know, it is too early to comment on your true feelings, Clark, the former Iowa Hawkeye star said after the Colts lost their 44th Super Bowl loser Saints 31-17. Every game has its own personality.

New Orleans recovery-free bag, then drove six plays 58 yards, mountains Brees’ pass to Thomas Tse, who rumbled 16 yards in the end zone. Saints have their first lead of the night, in their corner of the magic, and the driving force behind it.

Clark’s first five-year reception, 4 to go down. Midway through the third quarter, in the third and - 4 from New Orleans 47, he was a close, no fewer than three saints in the back of his contempt of the 27-yard gain logical and physical defenders waiting to see seize.

In the Livermore native and Indianapolis winger blinked his eyes and the most courageous face, he can be moved. How would you feel if you have carpet out from under 1 million people in front of you? How would you feel if you want to destroy the tail for two weeks, only to see the dream of the middle die? How would you feel if you see New Orleans cornerback you want to come up with something out of nothing, and squash and other errors? They

I mean, if it works, you seem to know what you are doing, Clark said. So it is unfortunate, we can not allow them to pay and take advantage of this opportunity.

This is just reckless. Reckless, bold and crazy. Evel nfl news Knievel - blindfolded and crazy.

Peyton Manning is good. Drew Brees, Purdue before the gunman, and his coach, Xiao Enpei Dayton, riverboat gamblers better.

This is not the way you want into the winter. In winter, in the dark and the what-if analysis

Coach dust myself from throwing cards on the table to come back. Saints, trailing 10-6 to start the second half with an offside ball, and all dogpiles mother followed.

The new standard is a little comfort. This is not what we play, Clark said. This is not the way you want to end your season.

Sean’s, and a large (curse), Saints winger Jeremy Shockey, Shockey likely since only.

Payton, like rolling the dice, he was house money to play. Down 10-3 late in the second quarter, in the fourth and - 1, rather than a point, coach to the tie. Alpierre Thomas is the right end of the loss has not been filled.

Their opportunities, three fourth-quarter drives ended in New Orleans 33 (missed shots), New Orleans 31 (interception) and the New Orleans 5 (turnover fluctuations) for 0 points.
